With over 20 years of experience teaching Pilates in Santa Barbara, Sara Day brings a rare combination of movement expertise and clinical insight to every session. A registered nurse and comprehensively trained Pilates instructor, Sara is known for creating workouts that are both highly effective and thoughtfully tailored to the individual.
Sara completed her Pilates Mat training with Nora St. John at Turning Point Studio in Walnut Creek and her apparatus training through the PhysicalMind Institute with Maria Leone at Bodyline in Beverly Hills. She is also re-certified in Pilates apparatus through Balanced Body.
Kind, attentive, and methodical, Sara pairs a nurse’s understanding of the body with an athlete’s love of movement. She knows when to modify, when to progress, and how to challenge clients safely—whether the goal is rebuilding strength after an injury, staying strong and mobile for decades to come, or reaching a new level of fitness and performance.
An avid tennis player, hiker, water skier, and snow skier, Sara believes movement should help you feel strong, capable, and confident in the things you love to do outside the studio as well as in it.
Her clients range from athletes and highly active adults to those managing injuries, chronic conditions, or recovery from surgery. Whatever the starting point, Sara’s approach is focused and encouraging, with an emphasis on building strength, mobility, balance, and resilience for the long term.
